The Winter Bulletin is now available. It includes updates on 'Lakes Line 175', plans to celebrate the line's anniversaries in 2021 and 2022. To make sure of your copy, join the Group using the membership form on this website. If you think it is worth fighting for more trains on the Lakes Line, for stations which offer more facilites, we would like your support.
Collecting tickets bought on line
If you buy tickets using your computer, you can collect them at Kendal or Burneside or Staveley. Northern has now had 'our' three unstaffed stations added to the national list.
The train operators have announced that, to protect conductors and passengers from close contact, they will not be selling tickets on trains while the Covid-19 emergency lasts. Tickets should be bought at machines, or on line, or as e-tickets on your mobile phone.
From 18th January Northern is reducing the number of trains on the Lakes Line. No Sunday times yet.
Trains will leave Oxenholme at (and return from Windermere at) 0616 (0642), 0729 (0756), 0827 (0914), 1018 (1110), 1218 (1307), 1418 (1512), 1618 [Saturday] 1621 [Mon-Fri] (1710), 1818 (1856), 1927 (1948), 2018 (2044 Mon-Fri, 2042 Sat) and Monday-Friday only 2117 (2044) and 2222 (2247).
All trains between 0914 and 1856 run to/from Manchester Airport.
All Lakes Line trains are scheduled to be formed of 3 carriages, helping passengers to maintain social distancing.
